Randy Comer
Randy Comer has been involved in the real estate industry since 1979, becoming a licensed agent in 1991. Randy’s focus is on commercial real estate and as well as specializing in hospitality properties, hotels, lodges and change of use properties. He has a Master of Business Administration Management from Alaska Pacific University.
Randy moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1984 from Reidsville, North Carolina, a small farming town —where your word and a handshake was enough to seal any deal. He met his wife Jennifer after several years in Alaska. They have a blended family and are both proud parents of six wonderful children, five sons and one daughter.
Besides the real estate industry, which Randy and Jennifer collectively have over 50 years of experience in, they also own an Airbnb business, have owned, managed, and operated over 300 hotel rooms in the state of Alaska and own real estate in several other states as well.
Randy’s work experience includes managing a fortune 500 company and owning and operating several small businesses. During the mid-80’s he worked with the local cable and telecommunications company where he created the company’s new commercial division. Hotels quickly became a major client base for them, adding to 12% of the company's revenue. Over the past 35 years Randy has created trusting and loyal business relationships with his brokerage clients.
As an active member on the Alaska Hotel & Lodging Association board for 30 years, Randy has built relationships with most hoteliers in the state; from owners and managers to housekeepers and dish washers. Randy reminds those in the business that his first industry job, at the age of 18 was as head dish washer at the Green Park Hotel in Blowing Rock, North Carolina — where President Ford was a guest.
As Randy states “At Comer & Associates Real Estate, we broker, own and manage hotels — building loyal clients along the way” and “It’s easier to broker hotels than run them.”
When consulting, Randy quickly explains to his clients that good management is key. He once had all of his managers read the book, “Good to Great” by James C. Collins. Closing more hotel transactions in the State of Alaska (than any other broker), Randy believes a great general manager is the path to success and that relationships are key.
“I have been blessed to work with and become friends with many of our industry leaders across the country. I cherish these relationships.” - Randy Comer

I am a born and bred Alaskan who grew up here in Anchorage. Our family home was a B&B for years during my early-life, which exposed me to the lodging industry early! My interest and exposure with hospitality only grew from there. In the following dozen years, we owned, operated, and even lived-in one of the properties we had gotten to know. Over time, I made my way up the ladder from groundskeeper/landscaping, to housekeeping/laundry, to maintenance, to painter, to front desk, and eventually even ended up in the back-office helping with bookkeeping. I may not have the many years of experience under my belt yet, but if there is one thing I know about Anchorage, it’s what it takes to run a hotel.
Music became a passion of mine and I spent almost all my time outside of work playing, watching, or listening to music of all kinds. By my college years, I had become a music major at UAA and was in full swing to continue that path, but life had a different plan in mind, and I transitioned into economics and business for my last couple years at UAA. Although I love and practice music to this day, I started seeing more doors open for me through hospitality and real estate. Now, I am pursuing a continued education in Real Estate, managerial accounting, Real and Personal Property law and common law history.
In case you couldn’t already tell, we are a family-run firm with family values. Please give us a call so we can get to know each other. Our hope is to build lasting relationships with all of our clients. We want to know how to best serve you!

I am a lifelong local that calls Anchorage, Alaska home. Anchorage is a city that thinks of itself as a town, culminating into the interesting small-scale atmosphere, yet commercial hub we call home. I was brought up with steady morals, principles, and a hard work ethic.
I have my Hospitality Administration BA degree with a minor in Business Administration. I am now inside the Commercial Real Estate industry with plans on developing my salesmen skillset. I’m working with my family at the family brokerage, Comer & Associates Real Estate which focuses primarily on commercial hotel properties. My father, Randy, has had huge success with these type businesses. I hope to learn the tricks of the trade from him and begin my own career in time.
